It's sad but true that few people bother with the Google+ hashtags, either relying on an automatic selection of leaving their posts with none. However, it also seems few people use their Circles effectively, either, and one culprit is the ability to post to Public, meaning anyone who has them in their Circles. This annoys me greatly as I mostly have people in my Circles for a given reason (e.g. genealogy), and so receiving posts about cooking, religious messages, etc., is inappropriate. Those posters could have shared with a specific Circle, or the customisable 'Your Circles' target, but no thought was really given to their audience.

I'm looking to gain experience/practice in HOAs so I can host my own pet related (pet nutrition, holistic medicine, dog walking/pet sitting, etc.) HOAs and make YT videos as informational content for my clients.

We are teach folks to become dog trainers and we're utilizing private Hangouts to teach the scientific segment of dog training which is a 4 week segment.  Then they come to us in person for hands on with dogs for the remainder of the training.  

We're looking to use Hangouts to add not only an additional component to our business, BUT allow us to live where we want and still train dogs!  What could be better than that!

Different creators have different goals for their YouTube efforts. Some want to make money from Google's advertising network. Others want to reach people. Still others just want to experience the creative release that YouTube offers and find people who just want to participate in their video creations.

There's 3 fundamental steps that every creator, regardless of their goals, needs to implement on their channel before they can really start accomplishing those goals. I’ve broken it down into steps to make it easy to do.

During this hangout we'll not only discuss those 3 things, but also hear from other YouTube creators who are already doing these things and more on their channels. We'll hear their stories, see how they've implemented these things, and give you guys tips and advice for how you can do the same.

And Then

Last month, my wife's uncle died in a tragic accident in LA when the bicycle he was using to get lunch was hit by a truck. At the memorial service his daughter relayed a very touching story. 

She said her dad (who was her best friend) called every day to talk. But instead of opening the call with the customary "How are you" or "What's going on", her dad always opened the conversation with "And then?" Her father viewed each conversation as a continuation of the last, and what pained her the most was that there were to be no more "and thens". I cried. 

Since then I've thought a lot about how similar this is to our life's endeavors. We pour our heart and soul into our work and it becomes something we love and cherish. But even the challenges we work on today will one day become "and thens" as we move on to the next. 

Today I'm announcing my departure from Google after almost 8 years.

I have been incredibly fortunate to work with the amazing people of Google. I don't believe there is a more talented and passionate collection of people anywhere else. And I'm overwhelmed when I think about the leadership of Larry Page and what he empowered me to do while at Google. From starting Google I/O, to being responsible for all mobile applications, to creating Google+, none of this would have happened without Larry's encouragement and support.

I'm also forever in debt to the Google+ team. This is a group of people who built social at Google against the skepticism of so many. The growth of active users is staggering, and speaks to the work of this team. But it doesn't tell you what kind of people they are. They are invincible dreamers. I love them. And I will miss them dearly.

Finally, thank you to all those who I've met on Google+. The community here has been so supportive that I don't even know how to say thank you. You all make Google+. Without you, this social network wouldn't exist. Your support for Google+, and for me personally is something I will never forget. 

But, now is the time for a new journey. A continuation. An "and then". I am excited about what's next. But this isn't the day to talk about that. This is a day to celebrate the past 8 years. To cry. And smile. And to look forward to the journey yet to come.

I just spent a frustrating few hours working out that I can bring up and view a Slideshare deck on both HVC and HOA, but when I view the HOA recording on YouTube there is only a picture of my face watching the Slideshare show!

My question here is - Does Business Hangouts allow you to record a deck of slides (Slideshare or Powerpoint) via a HOA to a YouTube video, or will YouTube block it whatever route one goes??
