I have created a short page description for those joining a google plus hangout video call for a live interview for the first time. I am sharing to have feedback on so it makes it as simple and clear as possible for those being interviewed:
The Steps to Take to Join A Google Plus Hangout Video Call
Check your system
Before you can broadcast Hangouts On Air:
• Check that your browser, operating system, processor, and bandwidth meet the system requirements. (see below at bottom of page for details)
Download and install the latest version of the Hangouts plugin:

https://tools.google.com/dlpage/hangoutplugin• Check that your webcam drivers are up to date and that your webcam is working.
• Connect your headphones to your device. Headphones with a built-in microphone will dramatically improve your video-call experience. (this is if you have them)
Join Hangouts On Air
If you're invited to participate in a Hangout On Air, you can join the broadcast in a few different ways:
• On mobile: From the Hangout On Air video call notification, click the video icon , or click the phone icon to answer with just a voice call.
• On desktop: From the Hangout On Air video call notification, click Join video call.

Note: If the person inviting you to the Hangout On Air isn’t in your Google+ circles, the video call notification will be in your list of Hangouts invites. From your Hangouts window, click the menu , and then click Invites.
Here are buttons you will be asked to click when you join the call:
1) Join Hangout button - click on it
2) A new white box comes up with written material and you press on box that says I have read and accepted terms I agree box - click on it
3) Click on Okay, got it! below box
4) Another screen comes up. Click on green box that says Join
